These get used interchangeably and it causes confusion, so plainly: the designation Tata Play issues is channel partner, and that is what we hold, under code 13784. Most customers search for “dealer”, which describes the same thing in ordinary language — someone authorised to sell and install connections on Tata Play’s behalf.
What matters more than the word is what follows from it. A booking placed by an authorised partner is registered with Tata Play, which is what gives you a subscriber ID, a manufacturer warranty on the box and a service history attached to your account. Equipment bought informally and installed by someone unregistered gives you none of those, whatever it says on the receipt.

You pay us for the equipment and the installation, after it is working — cash, UPI, card or transfer. Your monthly channel subscription afterwards is paid to Tata Play directly, through their app, website or any recharge portal. We do not sit in the middle of your recharges.
Yes. Tata Sky was renamed Tata Play in January 2022 and the partner network was renamed with it. There is no separate Tata Sky dealer network still operating.
Call the same number. Set-top boxes carry a one-year manufacturer warranty from the date of installation, covering hardware faults; dish antennas and LNBs are covered for a year too. Signal problems from alignment or cabling are ours to fix, and we will send a technician back.
