A new Tata Play DTH connection costs between ₹1,899 and ₹3,390 in Tamil Nadu. The ₹1,899 offer is only for customers switching from another DTH provider with a compatible dish, not existing Tata Play customers. A new dish and HD box starts at ₹2,190. Our team confirms installation requirements before you book.

The four things that can make the final figure differ from the headline one. None of them is a surprise if you know about them before you book — which is the entire reason this section exists.
A standard installation includes up to 8 metres of co-axial cable from the dish to the set-top box. Past that, Tata Play charges ₹15 per metre. If the dish will sit at the far end of a long house, say so when you book and we will work out the run before a technician is dispatched.
Flush-mounting to a parapet or wall is standard. A pole mount to clear a neighbouring building, internal cabling through walls, or additional RF connections are classified by Tata Play as non-standard or premium installation and may carry a charge. The technician quotes it before starting the work, never after.
The prices below buy the hardware and the installation. What you watch each month is billed by Tata Play against your subscriber account, not by us. Tamil channel packs start at ₹153/month, and under TRAI rules you can also build a custom bouquet from individual channels.
Multi TV runs up to four televisions off one dish, each with its own box. That adds roughly ₹50–₹100 per month per extra TV to your subscription, plus the cost of the additional box.
Anything outside the standard installation is measured, explained and quoted before the technician begins — not added to the bill afterwards. If a quote at your door differs from what you were told on the phone, ask the technician to stop and call us on 81484 44444.
Between ₹1,899 and ₹3,390, depending on whether you need a dish antenna as well as a set-top box. ₹1,899 is the Porting Offer — One-Month Pack for customers switching from another DTH provider with a compatible dish. Existing Tata Play customers are not eligible. ₹3,390 covers a complete setup — dish, LNB, cable, box and installation — and also loads ₹3,600 of recharge balance onto the account.
Standard installation is included in every price on this page at no extra charge: dish mounting, cable routing and signal alignment, with up to 8 metres of cable. Beyond 8 metres Tata Play charges ₹15 per metre, and special mounting or other non-standard work may carry a charge. Anything outside the standard installation is quoted before the technician starts.
₹1,899, for the Porting Offer — One-Month Pack, only for customers switching from another DTH provider with a compatible dish. Existing Tata Play customers are not eligible. A new dish and HD box with a one-month pack starts at ₹2,190. The HD Dhamaka setup at ₹3,390 includes ₹3,600 recharge balance.
The figures on this page are what you hand over for the equipment and the standard installation — there is nothing added on top at the door. Your monthly channel subscription is a separate matter, billed by Tata Play against your account, and its published rates carry their own tax treatment.
After the connection is working, not before. The technician collects payment once the box is activated and you can see channels. Cash, UPI, card or bank transfer are all accepted.
The ₹3,600 loaded by the HD Dhamaka and Binge+ 4K plans is account balance, not a fixed-length subscription. How long it lasts depends on the pack you choose: on a ₹300/month pack it covers about a year. A more expensive pack consumes it faster.
Yes. The dish, LNB and cabling are common to all the boxes, so moving from an HD box to a Binge+ 4K Android box later means paying for the box and its installation, not for a second complete setup. Existing dishes in good condition can usually be reused.
Tata Play allows cancellation within 15 days of installation with a full refund of the equipment cost. After 15 days the set-top box is non-refundable, but the subscription can be deactivated at any time — there is no lock-in on monthly packs.
